So my sweet Jonas is turning 5 on Tuesday and we had his birthday party yesterday. I have never met such a sweat heart of a child in all my days. Somehow his difficult personality for the first 2 years of his life has resulted in the most loveable, affectionate, friendly child as he is growing older. It is mind boggling to watch my three wonderful kids, who are very much related, have such unique and individual personalities. Each one has their own strengths and weakness and I wouldn't have it any other way. I know everyone always talks about this awful middle child syndrome, but in so many ways Jo is the glue between my three kids. His is a best friend to both his older brother and his younger sister. Sasha's first word EVERY morning when I get her out of her crib is "Jo?" Anyway, I just wanted to share Jo's new, and VERY long overdue, portrait taken in Mexico. I have never changed his large portrait in my house because I have loved his 16 month portrait so much. Time to let him grow up just a little.
Here are a few images from his birthday. He wanted a Shark birthday so here is his invitation and cake.
Every once in a while I find I possess a very useless skill. I found out that I am quite able to sculpt sharks out of rice krispie treats. If you haven't figured out I am a total fan on "Ace of Cakes", I have the Tv set to record new episodes. It's one of the shows my kids and I can watch together. Obivously, I'm not a professional cake decorator but I can make my kids feel special and I think that's all that matters. I have to admit as the scultpted rice krispie shark sat and hardened before I put the fondant on Jonas said to me, "Mom, that's AWESOME!" That's all I needed to hear because really.... it's all about making him happy.
PS if you have a chance to go see "Under the sea" in 3D I highly suggest going...it was amazing!
