So this great mom was worried after the session that her kids didn't do very well. She was worried her kids didn't smile...... I'll let you be the judge.
Children's session go by so fast because there is such a short window of opportunity, especially when trying to fulfill all the requirements of both a group portrait and individuals. Sometimes things are going so fast I don't have time to really reassure the parent how well their child is doing. Generally, I have to wait until the session is over before I can really have a conversation with mom and let her know how beautiful her children are. More often than not I say something like, "Your child did wonderful!" and mom will say "Really?". Because I am a parent myself, I totally understand how worried we are about our children "performance" during pictures. But the camera sees moments differently than mom. It only takes a split second to capture that curious grin. Most of the time it isn't about getting the biggest, goofiest, laugh out of a child. It is all about those fabulous eyes and having them fully engaged with the camera. These gorgeous kids were absolutely delightful to work with. I know mom is going to be very suprised about all the smiles I captured behind her back. Thanks so much A for letting me be a part of your kids lives, I love these moments where I get a little one on one time to bond with your kids. You guys sure makes some beautiful kids.... I think your boys are going to give you every bit of trouble as your sweet daughter, good thing you are getting some early practice of parenting to a teen. HAHAH!
