My husband is convinced that Thanksgiving is the strangest holiday. I, on the other hand, think it's one of the most fabulous holidays we have. A celebration of cooking our best and then sitting down to eat that food with our friends and family. Thanksgiving consisted of dinner last sunday with the English family and Thanksgiving day with the Watkins fam. My mom's dinner last week will go down as the best Thanksgiving food ever, in my opinion. I will remember that turkey as the perfect bird. The Watkins family tried something new and started the first annual thanksgiving pie contest. I made my very favorite Cinnamon crumble apple pie... it was so yummy! I thought I would share the fabulous pies we all worked so hard on.
This is my Cinnamon Apple Crumble pie.
My mother-in-laws traditional pumpkin, LOVE the antique pie pans she cooked them in!
This was Maria's Banana Cream Pie that she took first place with.
Here's Dree's Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie... minus the bourbon.
This is Toby's Banana Cream Pie...
This is Hannah's S'mores pie which I think looks like it could be called Moon Pie. Very Tasty!
This is Peter's Coconut Cream Pie That definitely should have won the most artistic pie.
(I forgot to include two more pies... Liz's pumpkin and Maria's apple pie. Sorry guys!)
Needless to say we had WAY too much dessert, but it was fun.
The day after Thanksgiving Josh took the boy's for opening day at the Canyons. The best part was they made the Canyon's cover shot of the day for their website. You can see it here
Just in case they take the picture down try this link. And if that still doesn't work, just go to www.thecanyons.com and you'll see them on the chair lift in there "Shot of the Day".HOLIDAY DEADLINE UPDATE
