I have to admit that I am a hesitant to return to the blog and sit down to the computer to be productive. I had grandiose dreams of all the fun ways I was going to share my christmas and wish the cyber universe a wonderful holiday season. Instead I crawled into the new tie dye snuggie I received for chrismas and read the new book by Steve Martin entitled, "An object of Beauty" which I also received. Although I have been shooting plenty, I just couldn't bring myself back to sitting in this chair and working one more minute on my iMac. But today starts the official closing of the craziness that is Christmas. I finally succeeded in removing all garbage associated with unwrapped presents and made the kids haul all newly aquired toys to their rooms. I pulled out the vacuum and happily made room on the floor for walking. Big sigh... major accomplishment! Now that I have detoxic my mind from the holiday stess and my house from the holiday mess, it is time to return to our regularly scheduled program.
I do still want to share our Christmas card this year and wish everyone a happy season of recovery. If you ask me, the most wonderful time of the year begins in about 2 weeks.... I love mid january through the end of February.
The details on the card... 6.25x6.25 circle card printed on metallic paper with UV coating. I have been wanting to do a circle card this year but was unsatisfied with a 5x5 circle because I felt it too small to really do much with. I located envelopes that were 6.5x6.5 and then determined the size of the card. For all you other photographers wondering how in the heck I made a 6.25 in circle I'll fill you in on my little secret. Since labs are not offering this size and it isn't available anywhere, at least not that I know about, I invested in a very inexpensivee tool at Michael's. I used the Martha Stewart circle cutter and cut these babies myself. Although it took just a little bit of time to cut, it was totally worth it. The cutter was awesome, so consistant and easy to use. It came with 3 additional blades but I only used 2. I would do the whole thing over in a heart beat. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
On a totally different note.... PPA's IMAGING USA is coming up in a little over 2 weeks. We still have room for 1 or 2 more people in our hotel room in San Antonio if anyone wants to share... sorry to say this invitation is only open to women since it would make for happier husbands staying home to tend the kids. It is the main hotel for the convention and we promise to have a total blast. Drop me an email if you are interested. Our dates are january 14-19 in San Antonio, TX and since we have already been there I know the best and cheapest tortilla soup to have for lunch. If you are planning on attending PPA let me know and I'll plan a lunch or dinner for everyone to get together. Drop me an email if you a interested. Cheers to an exciting 2011.
