It was a fabulous weekend, and at least saturdays weather was a treat. Mother's day has included more rain showers and it is suppose to snow again tonight. At least I got a couple of good yard cleaning sessions in this week. I am not picky about weather these days, I have already given up that battle.
This elegant bride spent her weekend becoming a Mrs. I absolutely loved her sassy red shoes! I think of all the wedding shoe trends that I have photographed and I think I like the shoe trends now the best. When I got married you wore white formal shoes. It was hard for me to find a pair of white heels to match my dress. If I could have picked a different color back in those days it would have been easier and WAY more fun. I am sure every photographer can remember the flip flop stage and the keds/running shoe phase. I think the styles today would have suited me best.
I had a chance to deliver a bridal portrait to another client this weekend who was completing her set of all 5 bridals of her daughter and daughter-in-laws. Her first portrait was from 14 years ago and features the bride with a large headband, which she looks wonderful in, but definitely shows the fashions of the times. I said, "Mark my words, those headbands will be back with in the next 10 years." I have been around this industry long enough to see trends come full circle. I absolutely loved the dress Kate Middleton wore in the royal wedding but I think it is going to usher back a bigger dress style with it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just my pridiction.
Wishing everyone a happy mother's day!
