Well, routine has finally settled in and I can officially report how great it is to be a working mom and have all my kids in school. I love my kids, don't ever doubt that! But after juggling kids for the last 12 1/2 years with working... I can't believe I made it to the other side. I am not sure exactly what "the other side" is but I will tell you what it means. I realize that some times we have phases of life that seem will last forever. Somewhere in the middle of the last 12 years I got lost and thought that the rest of my life would involve minute-by-minute care of small depended humans. I am not saying that I don't still have 3 small depended humans relying on me to wake them in the morning, make sure they have clean clothes to wear, that their lunch and homework is packed, drive them and pick them up to all their appointments....I would say they are still very dependent, but now I get several hours a day to work and breathe. NEVER underestimate the power of being able to breathe, it is a very healthy part of living. I guess "the other side" means I can breathe and sleep. I no longer have to work late into the night to barely try and keep up with work responsibilities. I work in the mornings now and get twice as much accomplished in half as much time because I am not exhausted from the full day. Of course, I am still behind and probably always will be, but the load is tolerable. My Seasons have changed..... and I am loving the change of scenery. In Utah we have 4 very distinct seasons and I love each one uniquely because I find the change and contrast beautiful and it keeps things feeling new. I know I am eternally behind on blogging, 2013 has not been a banner year for on-line sharing for me. But it has been a banner year with working the photographic career I set out to have almost 20 years ago. Since giving birth to my oldest 12 1/2 years ago photography was like jello, it had to fit in all the cracks, now it has it's own time and I am finding a whole new love all over again!
I had this incredibly cute family in a brand new fabulous location. I have been scouting the spot for years and finally got the go ahead to use it and I absolutely love it. This wonderful family could not have been better. Their clothes were perfectly coordinating without matching. I appreciate all the work parents put into the details of clothes for portraits, it's a headache but so worth it!
I loved this magic moment that happened between shots!
I am so grateful to truly have the best clients in the world. I have done so many families this year - and blogged none of them. But in my heart I am always so thankful for each and every unique family I get to celebrate. No two families are the same and each deserves to be captured in a way that shows off their personal style. This is a heart felt thank to all the silver and gold clients that let me be a part of their family memories.
